THE BLOW MONKEYS will release a brand new studio album, ‘Feels Like A New Morning’, on May 6th. The album, their third since reforming in 2008, was recorded and mixed in just eight days and frontman Dr Robert is quoted as saying “The songs are just a reflection of my mood. I was quite ill at times last year and it changed a few things in my life. I gave up alcohol and smoking completely and I guess it shows. It’s probably the first album where I haven’t had a drink. I just had more energy, felt more positive. I just think it was time to make something uplifting. I didn’t want to get into ‘singer-songwriter’ territory with this or get too personal or maudlin. There are barely any acoustic guitars on this. That was my self imposed rule”.
