I've seen Erasure many times before, and I was lucky enough to catch several shows on this tour so I may be slightly biased when I say that I think this tour ranks among the best the band has ever done.
Any fears as to how well the songs from the duo's latest album 'Tomorrow's World' would come across live without the electronic effects and jiggery-pokery provided on the record by producer Frankmusik were completely unfounded, and if anything the new songs sounded even better given the room to breathe and expand that a live show provides.
Against the backdrop of a ruined city, complete with gargoyles and gothic windows, Andy Bell was in great voice at every single show I saw, a bundle of irrepressible energy at all times, while Vince Clarke seemed relaxed and comfortable behind his keyboard stand.
Exceptional stuff, but as I say, I may be slightly biased!

I've also seen Erasure many times, shocking really as I lost interest after their second album, only to rediscover them about 17 years ago. It was hearing I Say I Say I Say in its entirety that did it!
Anyhow... I caught 2 dates on this most recent tour, Roundhouse London where I bumped into Andy befor the show & we said hello, sweet!
Good gig, loved the new tracks although I think it felt like a tough crowd who only seemed to really let go during the hits (yawn).
The 2nd show was at Blackpool, a shorter set but my god, what a performance & the crowd went nuts. I was disappointed when I first heard it was going to a slightly shorter set but I have to say that this was, by far, the best Erasure gig I've ever witnessed.
I think Andy was happy too, he closed the show by saying that it was their first time there & wouldnt be their last.
Make anote, next album & tour, get to the blackpool gig if you can. This show was near perfect & as is often the case, a good gig just makes me fall in love with the album that little bit more.
Agree that they were fantastic in Dublin in June 2011. Vince was just superb on guitar and keyboards. Andy's vocals were brilliant and his banter with the crowd went down very well. They done all the hits and some new stuff, so what more could you ask fir. well worth seeing in concert.
I seen this particular concert at 11 venues! all fabulous, I just love Val! the girls smiles are just so contagious, you just cant help yourself but grin back the whole gig. Andy is truely awesome, his voice was perfect. I loved the stage set, love the way Andy has a bit banter. Loved the new album, Loved the song choices!...... All in all I travelled about 19 times last year for Erasure/Andy Bell. not a bad gig at all, (apart from the rubbish at the mute festival)
